Oberon a Leader in Developing Film Industry in State
More Lights, Cameras and Action Ahead for Nebraska
By Mark Hoeger
December 14, 2001
Oberon is working closely with the Nebraska Department of Economic Development to improve the competitiveness of Nebraska’s film production infrastructure. Oberon has taken the lead in raising private funds to match state funds for an independent study that would make recommendations on specific actions that can be taken by state government and the private sector to increase film production in Nebraska.

The state is putting up half of the $50,000 needed for the study. $10,000 has been secured from the Nebraska Diplomats Organization. An additional $15,000 needs to be raised. An appropriate charitable agency is currently being recruited to act as a funding conduit so that donations to the cause will be deductible.

"Oberon is about more than just making a movie. We are committed to building an ongoing film industry here in Nebraska," says Oberon Co-President, Mark Hoeger, "Our State has many inherit assets similar to other states that have successfully developed this business but we need to make some additions to infrastructure and to create a more favorable financial environment if we are to be competitive."
